BLP was founded in April 1999 by Robert (Bob) L. Pondelick. Bob started working for his uncle’s excavation company in 1985. He started as a laborer and quickly got promoted to operating on the machines. As the family was deciding whether or not they wanted to retire Bob decided that excavating was something he really enjoyed and wanted to continue in the field. BLP started with just Bob and a 1991 Ford L-8000 tandem-axle dump truck. Today BLP is operated by Bob Pondelick and his son Bret Pondelick. Together they have turned BLP from a 1 man, 1 truck company into a 7 employee, 11 truck, and 12 pieces of machinery, with room to continue growing and expanding in the years to come.

BLP Construction has been a family owned and operated business in Sycamore, IL since the late summer of 1998. Bob Pondelick worked for Hanson excavating out of Elburn, IL from 1985 till the startup of BLP Construction in 1998. Starting small and growing at a steady pace has ensured the success of the company.
